Roberto TORO is researcher at the Department of Neuroscience of the Institut Pasteur in Paris. He obtained his BSc at the Universidad Técnica Federido Santa María in Valparaiso, Chile, and his MSc and PhD at the Université de Paris 6, Paris France. Dr Toro studies brain development and evolution using mathematical modelling, magnetic resonance imaging and genetics. He has developed computational models to describe the global organisation of the sulcal anatomy of the human brain, and to simulate the gyrification of the cerebral cortex. His aim is to apply this theoretical framework to understand the interaction between normal diversity and pathology in neurodevelopmental disorders.
