Ingénieur de recherche en traitement / analyse d’images médicales

In the context of the ANR project MAIA (“Multiphysics image-based AnalysIs for premature brAin development understanding”: http://recherche.imt-atlantique.fr/maia), the candidate will be employed as a research engineer (duration: 12–18 months).
His/her main activities will be the following:

− software development and integration (C++ / Python – ITK), related to PhD theses activities within the project (mainly in image processing and analysis). This will be done in strong interactions with Kitware SAS, Lyon;

− helping / collaborating with phD students (Reims, Rennes, Brest), in coordination with the PhD advisors;

− contributing to scientific publication writing (international journals and conference proceedings articles); participating to communication / dissemination of the results;

− participating to experimental work, for clinical validation of the developed methods and tool for images and clinical data, in collaboration with clinical partners (University Hospital).

Context and working environment

The candidate will work in Reims, on Campus Moulin de la Housse (CReSTIC laboratory). Due to his/her transverse missions and strong interactions with PhD students, researchers, (software development, research activities, data management), he/she will have to frequently move to different sites in Reims (University Hospital, Mathematics research Unit), and sometimes to other places in France for coordination meetings (Paris) or collaborative work with Kitware SAS (Lyon).

The employed candidate will work with collaborators from various domains: industry (Kitware), medicine (University Hospital), computer science and mathematics. Open mind and scientific curiosity are mandatory qualities, in this context.

Specific / required skills

The project MAIA is highly pluridisciplinary. The candidate should have a wide range of scientific and technological skills, especially in computer science and image processing / analysis (ideally in medical imaging, as the considered data will be mainly MRI and NIRS / EEG). Skills in C++ / Python are mandatory. Experience of ITK will be much appreciated.
